Daniel: Worshipping God in Babylon
Your geography is limited. Love it or hate it, you can only be in one place at a time. But you can do more than just survive; you can thrive. You can embrace your place. God put you here. And He’s here too. The book of Daniel is an ancient story with modern implications. A group of teenagers were exiled to a foreign land, left to deal with the reality of life in a diverse world. They started careers. They faced challenges and setbacks. They grew old. And yet in the shadow of Babylon, they learned it is possible to speak the language of a culture yet still worship the one true God. It’s possible to long for your true home but still put down deep roots. It’s possible to offer resistance while speaking truth with love and grace. The Kingdom needs you to bless the country – not the other way around. This was Daniel’s story. And it’s our story too.
